Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist role is responsible for the ongoing management and growth of RHCS’s social media presence in alignment with organizational strategies and direction. The role will be off-site, as the employee will work from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with CEO to develop marketing and communications plans that leverage the social media space. You will be responsible for the strategy and the execution of the ideas.
  • Responsible for posting content across social channels to include Tweeter, Facebook, etc.
  • Creates, manages and increases brand awareness and engagement across all social media channels, including, but not limited to blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram.
  • Leverages measurement tools to provide progress reports and assessments, while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
  • Conduct direct e-mail campaigns.
  • Provide a bi-weekly report that reflects social media growth.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge and real-world experience in planning, managing and executing social media initiatives. Effectively growing the number of engaged followers and consistently pushing out compelling content.
  • Applied experience planning social media programs.
  • Strong knowledge of all major social media platforms and how each can be leveraged in different scenarios.
  • Knowledge of social media legal guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Experience/Education:

  • 3+ years social media experience or equivalent experience within a corporate environment
  • BA or BS with focus on communication preferred, not required.
  • Experience with social media platforms, including, but not limited to Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with leveraging social media management and analytics tools such as HootSuite, Visible Technologies, Radian 6 and Crimson Hexagon
  • Experience writing, editing and crafting content for the social media space

Blog Communication Specialist

The Blog Communication Specialist role is responsible for generating and posting blog content for RHCS’s website in alignment with organizational strategies and direction. The role will be off-site, as the employee will work from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with CEO to discuss blog content that will reflect the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Provide freelance writing services, which include weekly articles in the following areas:
    • Relationships
    • African American Insight
    • Personal or Professional Growth
    • Parenting
  • Network and establish relationships with popular bloggers in order to increase RCHS’ visibility and collaboration opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Outstanding writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to craft high-quality content

Experience/Education:

  • 3+ years as freelance writer or blogger
  • English major preferred, not required.
  • Experience with WordPress platform
  • Experience writing, editing and crafting content for blogs

Outreach and Marketing Specialist

The Outreach and Marketing Specialist role is responsible for increasing RHCS’ visibility and marketing directly to prospects. The role will be off-site, as the employee will work from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with CEO to discuss outreach strategies that will reflect the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Provide weekly outreach services, which include the following tasks:
    • Work with CEO to develop an outreach campaign
    • Search for leads or legitimate prospects
    • Assemble and manage a mailing and e-mail list of legitimate prospects such as human resource professionals, conference planners, professional associations, etc.
    • Develop letters and email messages to be mailed to prospects that include benefits for them
    • Conduct Cold Calls to prospects
    • Attend networking events and professional conferences.
  • Follow up with leads associated with all legitimate prospects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge and real-world experience in managing outreach initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to balance numerous projects and pivot from one task to another.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.

Experience/Education:

  • 3+ years outreach manager experience or equivalent experience within a corporate environment
  • Experience creating outreach material such as white papers, prospect letters and email pitches
  • Experience managing and executing outreach initiatives as part of an integrated marketing strategy.
  • BA or BS with focus on communication or public relations preferred, not required.
